Day Seven
Saw a malnourished black lab today. Little buddy could barely stand. We gave him an MRE and sent the animal rescue team. Usually they just follow us, but he couldn't get off the porch. Since he wasn't a barking dog, we sprayed "DOG" on the house really large. Like, about a 98,264,519,573 size font. We also learned that animal rescue found breaking into a house to rescue a dog is supposed to be detained. As in, people who are actively helping victims get to be handcuffed. I also found a frog embedded in the siding on a house. I assume the hurricane relocated the frog by means of force, judging by the positioning and depth it was planted in the wall. There are also snails all over the houses. Snails that don't live on land. I don't think many are living on the houses, either. The water line (estimated by the mud line, the fecal line, or the snail line, depending on which is more visible on the color of a given house) is well above our heads, even standing on the stairs. today's the first day of sending troops home, but it is not my turn.
