Day Eight
2 More Patrols, each a few hours. Lucky us, we get hip-waders. Lucky me, I have a nice, low rank (date of rank counts when everyone is the same rank). Lucky us, we have working showers now. Rumo is I go home Monday, but the people going home the last 2 days are still here waiting for their flights. But waiting for a flight is an excuse to not go on another mission in waist - deep poo-juice in rubber pants in 342 degree weather (783 degrees with wind chill).
OFFICIAL UNCLE JESSE STATEMENT TO THE PRESS FOLLOWS:
A shower with soap and hot water is even better than being thigh deep in liquid cholera.
Later that evening...
I don't know what day it is, but I don't think it's Monday yet. I think Tomorrow is not Monday either. I've been told that I go to wait at a Naval base tomorrow overnight and take a flight the following day. It's going to be Sunday when I get home, and for that I am grateful.
